
Kate Florio
Executive Vice President
Kate Florio is the Executive Vice President for JSP. Kate provides overall leadership and direction for JSP’s business operations, including finance, HR, contract management and all administrative supports. With more than 15 years of experience in similar roles, Kate has honed her skills in nonprofit management, financial analysis and grant administration. In her role, Kate is responsible for overseeing the organization’s annual operating budget, which includes a variety of federal, state, county, municipal, and private foundation grants and contracts. She oversees budget development, monitoring, and forecasting at the contract- and organizational- levels, and reporting for JSP’s Board of Directors and clients/funders. She leads a team responsible for JSP’s business filings and audit processes, and is well-versed in GAAP and vendor compliance management systems.
Kate can successfully shift gears between the strategic big picture and operational details while working alongside a high functioning team to grow the JSP organization and build infrastructure that allows for sustainable expansion. Kate draws from the knowledge gained throughout her career to facilitate planning processes with a focus on quality and results. Prior to joining JSP, she was Director of Administration and Operations for the Crime and Justice Institute (CJI) where she delivered technical assistance and oversaw more than thirty grants and contracts annually. Kate received an MBA from Suffolk University and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Bridgewater State College, where her focus of study was criminology. Kate is also a Certified Facilitator and holds a Certificate in Health and Human Services Management.
