
Cherrell Green
Associate
Cherrell Green is an Associate at Justice System Partners (JSP). Prior to JSP, Cherrell served as a research associate on the Greater Justice New York team at the Vera Institute of Justice, which focuses on addressing the drivers of mass criminalization and mass incarceration in New York State. She managed all qualitative research activities and initiatives by engaging in both long-term and rapid response policy research and writing for legislative advocacy to advance decarceration, pretrial and parole reform in New York State. Her skills include facilitating interagency communication, strategic planning, and program design and evaluation. A passion for racial justice, Cherrell draws on her extensive experience of community-based research and participatory methodologies for engaging vulnerable communities and justice-impacted individuals.
Cherrell is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, where her dissertation explores how Black men experience, make sense of and cope with exposure to violence. She holds an MA in Criminal Justice from SUNY Albany and a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Adelphi University.
